agriculture

Agriculture is the systematic production and harvesting of food, feed, fibre and other goods. To produce a bumper crop, farmers have used various artificial means, such as new technologies, mechanization, chemical fertilizers and pest control. Although these methods have made farming profitable, it has also depleted the natural resources of the earth and created other socio-enviro problems.
Nowadays farmers are struggling to obtain good yields and tasty produce. The solution to this major problem is that farmers start concentrating on restoring the health of their lands, which will then ensure their economic profitability. Fertility of soil is determined by its structure, in other words, its humus content and the degree of activity in the soil. If the structure is damaged, the soil is less fertile, thus tilling it becomes more expensive, and the produce is poor.
Humus, the organic matter in soil, (which gives it a dark brown colour) is one of the most crucial components of the life cycle. Therefore farmers should ensure that there is a continuous production of stable humus in the earth. Water, air and other inputs are also very important for the proper growth of a plant. It is essential to achieve a balance of all these components, in order to avoid compaction of soil or water clogging.
Scientists have proven that the physical and chemical conditions of the soil affect the activity of microbes, minute insects and earthworms in it. In turn, this microbial life helps to improve the physical and chemical conditions of the soil. Therefore it is absolutely imperative to maintain the perfect balance --- for both these conditions determine whether the farmer gets a minimal harvest or a healthy bumper crop.
Unfortunately popular chemical tests do not
tell the farmers how to treat their lands, but merely provide data on
the mineral content of the soil. However, the main objective of agriculture
is to take the living matter from the decomposing organic material
and use it to grow new plants --- the eternal recycling process,
the foundation of a vital healthy life. Essentially, the soil is living
matter and must be carefully cultivated to ascertain long-lasting productivity.
The soil lives and breathes through its microbes. A well-balanced population of micro-organisms maintains the health and well-being of the soil. They improve its aeration and moisture retention and also balance its structure. The soil is able to sustain and support plant life in direct proportion to the abundance and vigour of its micro-organisms.
Due to overuse of chemical fertilisers, the microbial life in the soil has been exhausted and excessive production has led to soil compaction and stress. Therefore, the need of the hour is to evolve a Holistic Plant-Soil Management System, in collaboration with Nature’s own natural and sustainable ways of growth.
In a normal bio-diversified soil, Nature balances among useful, harmful and indifferent bacteria by a complex natural bio-control system. In monoculture agronomy, the remedy towards disease is by dosing powerful chemicals which cannot differentiate between useful and harmful bacteria, as a result eliminating all micro-organisms.
The science of Probiotics involves the repopulation of beneficial micro-organisms in the soil with the aim to improve plant growth and health. A high potency probiotic concentrate specifically re-establishes healthy soil-plant microbiology. By a process called “Competitive Exclusion”, positive bacteria in the soil compete with negative bacteria for the same nutrient resources, resulting in a lower population of negative micro-organisms. Today, plant health management can become proactive by stressing prevention of disease by repopulating beneficial micro-organisms in the soil-plant ecosystem.
SANJIBAN ORGANIC MANURE –
NATURAL EXTRACTS enable such a holistic probiotic system of organic
farming, enhancing the entire plant and the soil it grows in. SANJIBAN
products increase both the population and the efficiency of beneficial
microbes that release chemically combined soil nutrients such as phosphates
and nitrates as food for the plant. Repeated use of SANJIBAN over
several crop cycles encourages earthworm activity, increases root growth
and promotes better photosynthesis.
SANJIBAN works in the soil so that the soil works better, naturally. Its use improves the soil structure, reduces compaction, speeds up natural nutrient cycles by the introduction of usable oxygen-combined compounds, and increases aeration and penetration of water. There is a larger natural production of vitamins and hormones, a better fixation of carbon dioxide and nitrogen and a reduction in damage to root systems from nematodes. It is safe, bio-degradable, totally non-toxic, posing no threat to plants, animals or water.
BENEFITS OF SANJIBAN ORGANIC MANURE – NATURAL EXTRACTS
- 100% naturally derived from organic manure and plant extracts.
- Safe, bio-degradable, non-toxic.
- Low-Cost, Easy-to-use, Liquid-to-Liquid dilution.
