A major concern in the environment today is the contamination from waste
dumps and effluent water systems. These above ground storage systems tend
to develop thick surface crusts with heavy settling of solids at the bottom,
commonly producing foul odours. They are also the breeding ground for
mosquitoes and other disease carrying insects.
The cause of these waste problems is simple. Unstable mixtures suffocate
the natural biological activities in the pond. Healthy bacterial organisms
that normally convert the waste into usable nutrients die from “overload”.
The solution to a healthy waste effluent system is to bring the natural
microbial activity back into balance.
“Bio-remediation” is the application of biological
treatment to the cleanup of unwanted contaminants. In other words, it
biodegrades harmful chemicals such as gasoline, diesel, oil, pesticides
and other organic compounds into simple residues such as carbon dioxide,
cellular protein, mineral salts and water, which can be safely recycled
and absorbed back into the environment. To do this, it incorporates the
use of micro-organisms such as bacteria and fungi as well as the catalytic
action of enzyme bio-chemistry.
Unlike other remedial technologies, bio-remediation successfully converts harmful materials into non-hazardous components. Bio-remediation is cost effective, environmentally sound, and increasingly the preferred choice of remedial technology for cleanup operations.
The SANJIBAN MicroActive family of products are liquid stimulators developed from a complex fermentation process. Easy-to-apply, non-toxic, completely safe and 100% natural, MicroActive products are not bacterial cultures or odour-maskers, but organic extracts enriched with natural enzymes that activate and rapidly multiply healthy organisms already present in the effluent system. This is a direct result of a healthy and balanced microbial activity, with less of nutrient waste as a result of reduced losses in gases, settling and crusting.
